Onam is biggest festival in Kerala which is celebrated for ten days. Mollywood plans several of its biggest film releases during this period. Like every year this year too several films got released for Onam festive season. Among them Dulquer Salman's King Of Kotha, RDX, and Nivin Pauly's Ramachandra Boss & Co were top contenders.

Dulquer Salman's King Of Kotha is the most awaited films of the year and considered as potential record breaker in the Malayalam films. The film was promoted widely and released as a Pan India film in several languages in more than 2500 screens worldwide. After terrific start the film opened to mixed reviews and started to decline in collections. King of Kotha with its star power, has collected Rs 34 crore in six days worldwide.

RDX starring Shane Nigam, Anthony Varghese, and Neeraj Madhav, which is released as a small film comparatively with King Of Kotha has turned out to be a money spinner at the box office. The film made as a high-octane action movie with martial arts as main theme has impressed the audience with its adrenaline-pumping action sequences and background score. The film has collected Rs 24 Crores in its five day run and emerged as clear Onam winner with upward trend in collections.

The third film, 'Ramachandra Boss & Co,' featuring Nivin Pauly was also released for Onam. This film was made as a heist adventure comedy. The film received poor reviews and is struggling to sustain at the boxoffice. It made Rs 4 Crs in five days and is declared as a disaster. With both King Of Kotha and Ramachandra Boss & Co ended up as disappointments, RDX is expected to go longway and end up as one of the biggest hits.
