However the selectors and team management is keen to persist with Rahul due to his record in one days and also his ability to keep wickets despite repeated failures much against the wishes of his fans. They selected him for the on going Asia Cup but he didn't play the first two matches.

In the meantime, Rahul and his wife Athiya Shetty few days back went on spiritual sojourn so that he will be picked for the world cup squad in the coming days. Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul quietly prayed at Ghati Subramanya Swamy Temple. Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul, dressed in traditional attire, made a serene visit to the Ghati Subramanya Swamy Temple. 

Despite their popularity, the couple managed to maintain a low profile during their visit on Saturday, marking the end of the Shravan month.As images of their temple visit in Bengaluru circulated on social media, both Athiya and KL Rahul were captured in prayer, surrounded by well-wishers. Athiya wore a printed floral salwar suit, while K L Rahul opted for a white t-shirt and pants. In another photo, they stood side by side, smiling at the camera. A fan even captured a video as they exited the temple, and surprisingly, they managed to leave without drawing much attention from the public.
