Dasara And Balagam Being Considered As Official Entry To Oscars From India

Last year, SS Rajamouli's RRR won Oscar for best original song. With this, this year many are trying to get Oscar ticket for their films. Last year despite sending RRR, India sent Chhello Show, a Gujarati film to Oscars which failed to get any award. RRR won Oscar in open category. Now, this year special care is being taken to select official entry film to Oscars from India.

The 17-member Oscar committee headed by Girish Kasaravalli has commenced the evaluation process with multiple.acreening ain Chennai. The committee is meticulously reviewing all the submissions. The committee has received 22 entries from across the India.

Among them two Telugu films Nani's Dasara and Balagam are in frontline. The other films are The Story Teller (Hindi), Music School (Hindi), Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway (Hindi), 12th Fail (Hindi), Ghoomer (Hindi), Gadar 2 (Hindi), Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani (Hindi), Viduthalai Part 1 (Tamil), Vaalvi (Marathi), Baap Lyok (Marathi), The Kerala Story (Hindi), Zwigato (Hindi)

With screenings starting in Chennai on September 20, the decision is anticipated to be announced by the end of this month. Let's hope one of our films Dasara and Balagam will make it to final list and enter Oscars as official entry from India.
