Thota Kanna Rao, a Maize merchant from West Godavari who brought the distribution rights of ‘Robot’ for Rs. 27 Crores may come under severe beating if Sunday’s meeting of Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) will come up with a resolution that movies dubbed from any other Indian language should not be allowed to be released with more than 50 prints in Andhra Pradesh. 

As Kanna Rao announced ‘Robot’ will be released in the State with more than 500 prints on October 1, this would create theatre problems easily for ‘Khaleja and Brindavanam.’ Nearly 300 Producers participated in this meet nevertheless wanted to take measures that would rescue Telugu cinema. They have also come up with a unique voice that screening of Hollywood films should also be restricted and they have also called for a complete ban on the release of the dubbed Telugu versions of these Hollywood movies.

With Rajinikanth as their prime target having good and reasonable market in Andhra Pradesh, ‘Robot’ will be the worst affected because of the decision to restrict the number of prints for dubbed films from other Indian languages.
