Anurag Kashyap Shares His Experience Working For Vijay Sethupathi Maharaja

Anurag Kashyap has recently shared the screen space with Vijay Sethupathi in the Tamil drama, 'Maharaja' which hit the screens globally on 14th June. This also marks Vijay Sethupathi's 50th Film. It received thumping response and already crossed Rs 35 Crores globally. In a recent media interaction, Anurag shared his experience working with Vijay Sethupathi and Maharaja.

"Working on Maharaja was amazing. It was Vijay who actually got me into the film. I have been saying no to acting jobs in Tamil for a long time. Vijay had come to meet me in my office, where he watched 'Kennedy' and also gave me suggestions, which I collated and used. That's when he told me about this story and how they wanted me to act in it. Honestly, I just fell for it because of him," Kashyap said.

"And then I met the director (Nithilan Swaminathan) and he is such a shy person; very sweet but also very clear. Vijay helped me with the performance and the language. We were really very focused, and the whole performance that has come out... it's all thanks to him."

When Kashyap was asked to say his opinion on whether he feels Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' put Vijay Sethupathi on the national map, "I don't think so. Vijay had a fanbase before 'Jawan' and hence he was cast in it. He has always been a great actor, but I think his biggest fanbase came from 'Vikram Vedha'. People all over the country have seen that performance and loved him," said Kashyap
