A writ petition has been filed in the State Human Rights Commission against the newly released controversial film on factions of Rayalaseema, `Rakta Charitra-i’ for projecting the Reddy community in a highly objectionable manner.
One Karunakar Reddy from Anantapur district filed the petition in the SHRC, stating that the Commission order film director Ram Gopal Varma to remove certain scenes from the film which allegedly project the Reddy community of Anantapur district in a poor manner.
Accepting the petition, the interim Chairman Justice K Peda Peri Reddy adjourned hearing on the petition for Monday.
Earlier, the Telugu Desam Party leaders had objected to some scenes in the film which, they alleged, that the former chief minister N T Rama Rao was depicted as a murderer.
Bowing to the pressure of TDP leaders, the director had promised to remove the objectionable scenes from the film.
