Mohanlal Barroz 3D Guardian Of Treasure Trailer Review

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is all set to present his directorial debut, Barroz: Guardian of Treasure, a fantasy drama for children, this Christmas. The 3D film stars Mohanlal as Barroz, a genie guarding Vasco da Gama's hidden treasure for centuries.

The trailer, released earlier, has garnered a positive response, with netizens praising its "Hollywood-level quality" visuals. Viewers have expressed excitement, stating it will be a "good theatrical experience" and comparing it to a Disney movie. While some have raised concerns about the subject's appeal to modern audiences, most agree the film's target audience is children.

Initially based on Jijo Punnose's novel, Barroz underwent significant changes, including the title character's ethnicity. Jijo eventually dissociated himself from the project, and his name is no longer credited.

Barroz features cinematography by Santhosh Sivan and music by child prodigy pianist Lydian Nadhaswaram. After multiple delays, the film is now set to release on December 25, 2024.
