Shankar on his decision on Indian 3 release. When Shankar and Kamal Haasan teamed for Indian 2, the remake of the classic blockbuster Indian, everyone got excited. However the film turned out to be a colossal disaster at the box office. Following this speculation increased as to whether Indian 3 will ever release and if so will it release in theatres or will it have direct OTT streaming. Many felt that the film will head for direct OTT streaming.

Now, throwing light on Indian 3 release, post Indian 2 debacle, Shankar shared that he had moved on from the Indian 2 debacle and Indian 3 will have direct theatrical release. He said "I did not expect such reviews for Indian 2. But, it came. I've moved on and concentrating on my work,"

He added "I tried to convey a good thought. That way, I am happy. 'If the house is clean, then the nation will be clean' is a wonderful and necessary thought. Although it is a question of how it can be practically implemented, it is still important."
