Karthi Vaa Vaathiyaar New Release Date On Christmas

After facing multiple delays and a last minute stay by the Madras High Court, Karthi's highly anticipated film Vaa Vaathiyaar / Annagaru Vostaru is now targeting a December 24 release, coinciding with the death anniversary of legendary actor and former Chief Minister MG Ramachandran. The story pays tribute to MGR's legacy, with Karthi playing a quirky cop inspired by the icon.

The court had halted the film's December 12 premiere, citing producer KE Gnanavel Raja's unpaid dues of ₹21.78 crore to K Arjunlal Sunderdas. No official confirmation has been made yet, but efforts are underway to resolve the financial issues.

The action comedy, directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, marks Karthi's first collaboration with the filmmaker, known for Soodhu Kavvum (2013) and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum (2016). Krithi Shetty joins the cast alongside veterans like Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, and Anandaraj. Santhosh Narayanan crafts the catchy soundtrack, continuing his successful partnership with Nalan.
