Varanasi: Rajamouli to take a startling decision

Mahesh Babu's upcoming film Varanasi is progressing at a brisk pace under the direction of Rajamouli. Expectationns are high on the project as Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu are coming together for the first time and this happens to be Rajamouli's first after the sensation of his magnum opus RRR at the international level.

Now, inside talk is Rajamouli who is known as the tough taskmaster is planning to replace actor Rajat Kapoor. He planned to cast Rajat Kapoor in the role of Mahesh Babu's father. A source shares "Rajat Kapoor is undoubtedly a talented performer and has won appreciation for his work in Hindi films such as Mithya, Mixed Doubles and Siddharth,” The source adds “He was signed purely for his acting talent. However, the director and actor are not on the same wavelength when it comes to shaping this crucial character in a very specific way.”

The source adds . “He doesn’t want to stretch things beyond a point and is therefore considering a replacement. The director has also taken a brief break from the shoot,”

The film stars Priyanka Chopra as the female lead with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Madhavan playing important roles. Buzz is Prakash Raj will now be playing Mahesh Babu's father in the film.
