Rajamouli reviews Avatar3, Cameron interested in Varanasi. James Cameron and Rajamouli's bonhomie increased eversince Rajamouli captured the imagination of all with his magnum opus RRR.
It is known that James Cameron's most awaited film Avatar-Fire and Ash is releasing onnn 19 December 2025. Ahead of the film release, Rajamouli reviewed the film.
He interacted with James Cameron and said “I would like to thank you because you made me the first person, or probably the only person, amongst 1.45 billion Indians to watch Avatar: Fire and Ash. That feels very special.”
He continued “Watching Fire and Ash was an absolute pleasure. Hats off to you for creating those complex sequences, visuals and characters. I can go on and on. I was like a child in the theatre watching the Wind Traders, the Ash People, the new characters. Varang was absolutely stunning,”
Continuing his review, he said “But I thought, for me, after I come back from the theatre, it wouldn’t leave my mind. What really got me hooked was Jake’s moral dilemma. I thought the first Avatar had it; it was so strong. I thought, can he ever beat it? But I think in this, it is much stronger.”
He went on to add “Two of the beautiful conflicts in the film were between Miles and Jake, and also, of course, between Neytiri and Varang. In the first film, I clearly hate Miles. But in Fire and Ash, I want to hate him, but I can’t. I want to side with him, I want to love him, but I can’t. The conversations between Jake and Miles were beautifully written; there was a lot of angst to them.”
After this interaction, James Cameon expressed his desire to vist the sets of Rajamouli's upcoming entertainer Varanasi which stars Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. He said “So, I think you're shooting for a while, right, on the new film Varanasi?”
He said “Okay, plenty of time. Well, tell me when you're doing something fun. I don't know, something with tigers,” said Cameron, adding, “May I come to your set sometime and watch you create your magic?”.
Cameron quipped, “Call me when you are shooting something fun—something with tigers,” He also said “I’m going to come to your set. You can give me a camera, and I’ll operate it. I can even give you a few shots like a second unit director,”
Rajamouli said, “Sir, you’re putting me on the moon. I’ll somehow hold you to that promise and bring you to Hyderabad to my film sets. I can’t wait.”
