Japanese Chef Cooks His Famous Biriyani For Ram Charan Upasana

Japanese chef Takamasa Osawa, also known as 'Biriyani Osawa', recently whipped up his famous biryani for Tollywood star Ram Charan and his pregnant wife, Upasana Konidela, at their Jubilee Hills home. Osawa took to his Instagram stories to share the experience, posting pictures and videos of the biryani preparation and the star-studded gathering.

The chef was seen cooking the traditional dish outdoors, after prepping it in the kitchen, with Ram Charan and his mom, Surekha, patiently waiting. A pregnant Upasana was also seen enjoying the moment, as Osawa presented the fragrant biryani. Ram praised the chef for making the biryani so 'flavourful' and even gave him a hug, calling it "A day I won't forget."

Osawa posted pictures of Ram's home and kitchen, where the biryani was freshly prepared. He also shared glimpses of the exotic birds and Koi fish kept at the star's home, apart from his pet dog Rhyme, calling it a 'quiet welcome'. The chef's passion for biryani is evident in his work, having spent 15 years traveling between Japan, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh to learn more about the dish.

Osawa, a Michelin Bib Gourmand, runs a 10 seater restaurant in Tokyo that serves only biryani. He credits a trip to Tamil Nadu for changing his life. Ram Charan, who is quite popular in Japan, is now shooting for Buchi Babu Sana's Peddi, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Shiva Rajkumar. Upasana is pregnant with twins, and their daughter, Klin Kaara, was born in 2023.
