Mammootty's crime thriller "Kalamkaval" is all set to make its digital entry on Sony LIV. The film, which received good success in theaters, will be streaming in Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada languages from January 16. This Sankranthi gift is expected to entertain OTT audiences, with Mammootty in a unique psycho role.
The digital rights of the film were acquired by Sony LIV, and it's likely to be released online a day before the official release date. Given Mammootty's fan base outside Kerala, many are eagerly awaiting its online release. The film's successful theatrical run of 40 days has led to this highly anticipated OTT premiere.
"Kalamkaval" features Mammootty and Vinayakan in leading roles, with the scenes between them being a main attraction. Directed by Jithin K Jose, the film is produced by Mammootty himself under his production company 'Mammootty Company', in partnership with Wayfarer Films and Truth Global Films. The plot revolves around a police inquiry in a small hamlet, uncovering a series of brutal killings.
The film's soundtracks, created by Mujeeb Majeed, have received praise from the audience. Mammootty's depiction of Stanley Das, the antagonist based on the infamous serial killer Cyanide Mohan, has also been appreciated. On the same day, ZEE5 will start streaming another recent Malayalam movie, Bha Bha Ba, starring Dileep and Mohanlal.
