Isha Koppikar, speaking to scribes, shared her thoughts on work culture and hours debate.

She said “We have a normal 12-hour shift. When you’re signing the contract, decide it then- between the actor, and the producer. If the producer wants that actor, then the producer should fulfil the actor’s demands. If you don’t want to- can you afford to lose that actor? You can’t say you want that actor and also expect them to work entirely on your terms. That doesn’t work. If there’s an actor who works according to your terms, take that actor. And if someone doesn’t, then don’t take them. I don’t know what the problem is here,"

She continued “If you want an actress who works 8 hours, and then you want to make her work 16 hours, she won’t do it. Then don’t work with her. Work with someone else. So how is this the actor’s fault? It’s the producer’s fault. You want a hit heroine. You want a superhit hero. Then superhit heroes and heroines will work on their own terms. We complicate our lives because we want the best, but we don’t want to pay the best, and we still want to get the best out of the stars. How will it work that way?"

She revealed “10 films nahi milenge actors aapke hisaab se kaam karenge. Aur nahi karenge matlab unka pet bhara hua hai. (When actors don’t have many films lined up, they might agree to work on your terms. And if they don’t, it means their stomach is already full). So I don’t see the problem,"
