Dhanush D55 Kicks Off Production With Pooja Ceremony

Dhanush's upcoming film, D55, has officially begun production with a formal pooja ceremony. The film, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, boasts an impressive cast, including legendary actor Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, and Sreeleela. This marks Mammootty's return to Tamil cinema after a seven year gap, following his appearance in Ram's Peranbu (2019). 

Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela are the female leads, with Sai Pallavi collaborating with Dhanush for the second time after Maari 2 (2018). Sreeleela, on the other hand, is teaming up with Dhanush and Rajkumar for the first time. The film's technical crew is yet to be fully announced, except for composer Sai Abhyankkar.

D55 is being produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films in association with RTake Studios. The film was initially set to be produced by Anbuchezhiyan and Sushmita Anbuchezhiyan under Gopuram Films, but the production house changed hands. With Mammootty, Dhanush, Sai Pallavi, and Sreeleela on board, D55 promises to be an exciting project.

The film's storyline and genre are yet to be revealed, but given the cast and crew, it's expected to be a high octane action drama. Dhanush's last Tamil film was Idli Kadai, and his next Kara is gearing up for release this summer. He is looking to deliver a solid hit with D55.
