The producer of the Tamil film Jana Nayagan, KVN Productions LLP, has decided to withdraw its writ petition against the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) from the Madras High Court. This decision comes after the production house agreed to refer the matter to the CBFC's revising committee, paving the way for the film's potential release.

The writ petition was initially filed on January 5, seeking a U/A 16+ certificate for Jana Nayagan within 24 hours. However, the CBFC directed the film to be sent for examination by a nine-member revising panel on January 6. The production house had alleged that the certification process was delayed arbitrarily, causing financial losses.

The film's certification process was put on hold after a CBFC monitoring committee member complained about visuals and dialogues that could disturb religious harmony. The Madras High Court had allowed the writ petition on January 9, but the CBFC obtained a stay order, which was later set aside by the Division Bench on January 27

The production house is now set to approach the CBFC's revising committee, and the writ petition is expected to be withdrawn.
