The romantic flick of 'Kadali' gearing up for a grand release very soon may go into a deep controversy with lip kiss scene shot on debutant leads Gautham Karthik (son of yesteryear hero Karthik) and Thulasi Nair (daughter of yesteryear heroine Radha) which is widely used as a promotional material for the film. 

Senior Tamil writers, Charu Niveditha and Gnyani Shankar have criticized and accused Maniratnam for spoiling the mind set of teenagers with these kind of intimate scenes shot on two minor artists. 'Producers and directors should take the responsibility for the ill effects on society these sort of scenes can create,' they said while makers opine that, lip kiss is a divine expression of love and such scenes have to be looked upon with open broad mind.
