Anjali Devi Is No More

Legendary actress Anjali Devi Breathed her last on Monday, 13th January at Vijaya Hospital in Chennai. She was 86. Her husband late Adi Narayana Rao was one of the noted music directors of tollywood. Not only as an actress, Anjali Devi made many movies as a producer. Anjali Devi was born in the month of July, 1928 at Peddapuram in East Godavari District.

Anjali Devi made her film debut as an actress, through 'Gollabhama' released in the year 1947. She got enormous reputation through her goddess Sita Devi role in then industry hit movie 'Lavakusha'. 'Suvarna Sundari', 'Balaraju', 'Keelugurram', 'Anarkali', 'Chenchulakshmi' etc. are some of her remarkable films. She was seen in more than 500 movies in Telugu, Kannada and Tamil languages. Anjali Devi was last seen in Chiranjeevi's 'Big Boss'. She was honouored with Raghgupathi Venkaiah Award in 2005.Cinejosh pays deepest condolences to the members of Anjali Devi.
