KCR accepts Harikrishna request

Kantha Rao or popularly called as Kathi Kantha Rao hails from core Telangana region. As a part of offering a helping hand to aged and old artists, Telangana Government is following a generous approach. As per a request and information forwarded by Telangana Cultural Department Director Harikrishna to CM KCR explaining the bad health condition and financial distress in Late Kantha Rao’s wife Hymavathi’s family, Government has immediately granted a monthly financial assistance of Rs.10, 000.

Kantha Rao belongs to Kodada mandal in Nalgonda district. At a time when legends like NTR, ANR were dominating the Tollywood top seats, Tadepalli Lakshmi Kantha Rao stood in third position. He acted in nearly 500 films. Kantha Rao and Hymavathi had three sons. All of their financial position is reported to be quite bad in shape.
