Puri Begins 'Heroinism'

Puri Jagannath films are typically protagonist centric. Either it may be hero or heroine leading story of film from the front, more often we see energetic and eccentric characterization in these main leads. In this way, Puri created a mark of his own in elevating the heroism. Now, Puri shifts from so called heroism to ‘heroinism’ as seen in the teaser of ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’ released yesterday on the eventual Women’s Day.

A song filled with pure feministic ideology written by Bhaskarabhatla has strongly portrayed the kind of content Puri is touching with the film. Even Charmi has done similar kind of rebel roles in the past. However, when Puri is the director… there will be an exceeded dose of this ‘heroinism.’ All in all, we can see Puri-ism spilled through the character of ‘Jyothi Lakshmi.’
