Horror-Thriller doesn’t mandatorily mean, a devil is going to be a part of the story and spine chilling horror generates from there on. Ever since horror-comedies have become the ruling formulae in South cinema, there is a row of films hitting the Box Office. While some like ‘Geethanjali’ turned out as surprise hits, recently released ‘Raju Gari Gadi’ also stood as a decent success.
Now, it’s time for Colors Swathi starring ‘Tripura’ from director Raja Kiran to hit the screens on 6th of this month. Publicized as a horror-thriller, heroine Swathi says that ‘Tripura’ is not a ‘Dayyam’ cinema. ‘This is a pure thriller film with neatly weaved suspense elements. All those rumors chanting my role as that of a Dayyam in the flick are false. Do not believe in them,’ Swathi informed media today at an interview.
Going by ‘Tripura’ teaser, trailer and posters bunch, the look of Swathi clearly resembled that of an evil spirit. Director Raja Kiran is also known with hit ‘Geethanjali,’ again a Dayyam cinema. So, all these commonalities have misled audience to view ‘Tripura’ as a devil film. Finally, Swathi’s statement should change the audience mindset while visiting theaters from 6th of the month.
