The highly spoken about film in current Indian cinema is ‘Bajirao Mastani’ from producer, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The magnum opus made on very high budget with the historic concept of Peshwa, Bajirao in Maratha Kingdom, his epic love story with Mastani played by Deepika Padukone and wife Kashi Bai done by Priyanka Chopra is currently in a deep controversy.
In a startling happening, Bajirao family descendants Prasadrao Peshwa appealed the Maharashtra government to stop the release of film because Bhansali has distorted the historic facts which might defame and demean the heroic character of Bajirao. A letter requesting the same is forwarded to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
If Government orders for review of the film, then any of the creative freedom taken by Bhansali to add a commercial value can be chopped off. If such result comes out, then Bhansali and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ release can be in real trouble because they have announced the date to hit the screens as 18th December. This is the ultimate dangers behind producers and directors when touching the glorious history subjects.
