Former Boxing Champion Muhammad Ali Died at 74

The former world heavyweight boxing champion and one of the world’s best sportsmen Muhammad Ali is no more. He is reportedly died at a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 74 years old. Admitted into the hospital on Thursday suffering with respiratory problems, primary reason or his death is said to be Parkinson disease. Reports from USA say that, final rites will be held at Ali’s hometown Louisville in Kentucky.

The spectacular achievements of Muhammad Ali include, Olympic light heavyweight gold medal in 1960 followed by world’s best heavyweight champion from 1964 to 1967, 1974 to 1978 and 1978 to 1979. All in all, he had 61 professional bouts and won 56. Among these 56, most interestingly 37 were knockouts and 19 were decisions. He just lost five including the one of his retirement announcement in 1981.

On personal front, Ali converted to Islam perceiving the literal meaning in his name. First becoming Cassius X and then called as Muhammad Ali.
