Yevaru Mini Review - Poorly Horror

Yevaru,’ the new movie from Nandamuri Taraka Rathna which would have released some two years ago with the title of ‘Yamini Chandra Sekhar’ is out in theaters today as ‘Yevaru.’ Starring Panchi Bora and Taraka Rathna as main leads, director Ramana Salva missed a big chance of delivering an authoritative psychological-horror-thriller with poor production design and pale script work.

Basic story line of powerful and uncontrollable evil spirit Sadruchi dying for blood and how a modern day science believer Sekhar sacrifices his life saving Yamini Chandra with the help of Tantric Naazar, Suman is quite exciting on paper. However, the wrong selection of artists like Panchi Bora, Taraka Rathna; worst production standards, sub standard camera work in poor lighting killed the very basic scary essence in plot. Has there been a gripping narrative, ‘Yevaru’ surely would have done a magic for horror movie lovers.

Last 30 minutes in pre climax and climax stages wherein Taraka Rathna and Manthrik fights against Sadruchi took the film to next level. The rigid psychological and scientific element in Tarak’s characterization is well designed. All in all, director Ramana Salva showed total inexperience making ‘Yevaru,’ an ignorable new product of this week.
