Missed Suicide, Producer Gets Life!

Noted producer and Ex Payakaraopet MLA Chengala Venkat Rao is sentenced to life time imprisonment by Anakapalli Sessions Court while delivering the verdict on a ten year old murder case of a fisherman named Gosala Konda.

As per the facts noted down, Chengala while serving as MLA during 2007 times visited Bangarampalem village in Nakkapalli mandal wherein a group of protesters agitated against alleged sand mining mafia and construction of a chemical factory. After heated arguments between two groups, situation led to violence and brutal killing of Gosala Konda. Immediately, police booked cases against 25 people including Chengala for inciting violence. While three of them died during the trial, 16 out of the remaining including three women are sentenced to rigorous life sentence by Sessions court.

Chengala was into the Telugu Desham Party first and later jumped into YSRCP. He also produced trend setting Samarasimha Reddy with Balakrishna and a disastrous Narasimha with Junior NTR before jumping into Hussain Sagar unable to bear the financial losses made by the second film.
