Kedi played Rummy with GHMC!

Annapurna Studios in Banjara Hills, which belonged to Akkineni Nageshwar Rao and his son Akkineni Nagarjuna may soon turn into a mega Multiplex. As per this plan, Annapurna Studios initially planned to build structures that were 30 metres in height. To build such tall structures in Banjara Hills, GHMC rules are a big hurdle but there are few relaxations however.

To abide by the rules of GHMC and their relaxations, Akkineni Nagarjuna approached GHMC seeking relaxation of rules during the time of YSR. With best relations shared between Nagarjuna and YSR, easily the relaxation has been expected.

To avoid further delays, Nagarjuna also applied for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) in parallel from Airports Authority of India (AAI) which GHMC has made mandatory. Unfortunately AAI has out rightly rejected the proposal. Rejection letters have been sent not only to Annapurna Studios management but also to the local civic bodies.

On the basis of the AAI letter (AAI/HY/ATS/- 59/NOC-2), the GHMC has denied building permissions to the star. Worried Nagarjuna seems to have applied for construction of buildings not at the height of 30 metres but only for 15 metres. Unfortunately the town planning officials rejected building permission even for 15 metres.

As of now, the plans to build a mega entertainment complex has been kept on hold but Nagarjuna and Nageshwar Rao are known to be making all their attempts to get out of these GHMC jinx. As for now, Nagarjuna is just busy with release of 'Kedi.' Let us hope that, this Kedi' s rummy play with GHMC be on a winning note.
