Bhaagamathie Trailer: Repeating Chitrangada

Anushka is a stellar performer. Super duper hits Arundathi, Baahubali provide enough evidences on Sweety's capabilities. At the same time, there are flicks like Varna, Size Zero, Panchakshari which proved dismal exposing her drawbacks.

Whatever, subject here pertains to director Ashok's Bhaagamathie trailer unveiled while back. Following the regular horror thriller template, there is a social issue and haunted Mahal in centre. 

Trailer did not hide anything. Honest IAS Officer Chanchal is on a mission but she has hurdles enroute. So, she is put behind bars and then shifted to an abandoned Mahal where Bhaagamathie possesses her. 

Madhie's camera, Anushka's amazing screen presence, Thaman's RR and UV Creations production values elevated a rather meager plot. What's frightening is, Ashok who promised something new with his last film Chitrangada trailer fell flat on nose with feature film might repeat the same on Anushka. When young and new directors are exploring the new side in horror thriller genre, beaten lines like Bhaagamathie require something extra ordinary on treatment and narrative. Will technicalities and Anushka's alone presence rescue UV and their Bhaagamathie? Let's wait till Republic day...
