As informed earlier, we know that South Indian Film Industry has planned to shut down Theatres from March 1 as a protest towards the screening of films in internet channels like Amazon Prime etc. The major fear is that if movies release in internet legally, then the Theatres will face difficulties in getting audience.
The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has issued a press note related to the latest happenings. The joint action committee of Southern Film Industry and Digital service providers have met on 16th Feb at Chennai to sort out the issues. However, they plan to meet again on Feb 23rd to arrive at the conclusion.
So, the decision of stopping the films screening at Theatres from March 1 across South India still stand applicable until further notice.
