Movie lovers are enjoying the performance of Mega Star Chiranjeevi in the role of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy in his latest release Sye Raa.
Many are thronging the theatres to watch the film even in overseas. However in the midst of all this, people who were watching Sye Raa in Canada got a huge shock.
In two separate incidents, knife and pepper attacks happened which resulted in the officials canceling the Sye Raa shows.
Both the incidents took place in Ontario, Canada. The first incident happened in Kitchener and the second in Whitby when a male suspected pulled a knife and cut the screen after entering the Landmark Cinemas. He also sprayed pepper spray or beer at the audience and escaped from the spot.
Officials as a preventive measure canceled Sye Raa shows in Toronto, Canada.
Investigations are on as to who could be behind the attacks. Some say syndicate, one Telugu person and three Tamilians are behind this. They used to report fewer collections in the range of 20k and 30k USD though the films used to collect 100k USD.
The syndicate who used to distribute regional films in their 4-5 desi screens, tried to acquire the rights of Sye Raa. But with the Punjabi getting the rights and screening in a grand manner in the renowned Landmark and Cineplus theatre chains, they are seething with jealousy and disrupted the shows.
