Puri to direct Surya

Ramgopal Varma bagged the rights for the remake of ‘Pokiri’ in Hindi some time ago, with Salman Khan as hero and Puri Jagannath, who directed the original Telugu version was expected to wield the megaphone for the remake too. However, it failed to materialize due to some unexpected circumstances.

But Varma had a serious thinking of producing a film under Puri Jagannath’s direction. Now, both of them agreed to do a film with Tamil artiste Surya as hero. Presently Puri Jagannath is busy with his film ‘Golimaar’ with Gopichand as hero and it is getting ready for release very soon.

This would be Puri’s next venture and it is most likely to go to sets either in July or in August. As per the indications available, the film would be a heavy budget film and is definitely create a big sensation in the Telugu film industry. It is also learnt that the film is most likely to go to sets by next month, i.e., in June.
