Telugu producers and distributors are smiling with hope again as theatres continue to witness improved footfalls by the day.  Four films – Sreekaram, Jathi Ratnalu, Love Life and Pakodi, Gaali Sampath – released last week and the coming weekend for Telugu cinema i.e. March 19 is expected to be equally busy for the industry. Chaavu Kaburu Challaga and Mosagallu are the bigger releases this Friday in addition to other films like Idhe Maa Katha and Sashi.

Chaavu Kaburu Challaga opens as a clear favourite among all films this weekend. Produced by Geetha Arts, the promotions for the Karthikeya-Lavanya Tripathi starrer have generated enough attention. The trailers have hinted at a unique love story between a widowed nurse and an ambulance driver and a good scope for actress Aamani for a performance. Mosagallu, a cyber-thriller based on an IT scam is Vishnu Manchu’s comeback vehicle and it’s a story that promises to be relevant for the times.

It’s been ages since Aadi (Pudipeddi) has had a solid hit – Sashi must ensure his return to form. Sashi is equally important for Surbhi whose career hasn’t progressed the way it should have, despite hits like Express Raja and Gentleman under her belt. Idhe Maa Katha is the most underwhelming of the lot – the casting is a huge bummer. Srikanth, Sumanth Ashwin and Bhumika Chawla’s presence isn’t enticing for a viewer at all.
