It is known that Surya is starring in films like Vaadivasal under the direction of Vetrimaaran and Etharkum Thuninthavan under the direction of Pandiraj.

He is also starring in the direction of Gnanavel of Kootahil Oruthan fame. Surya is playing the role of an advocate in the film and is romancing Rajisha Vijayan as the heroine. The makers released the new look from the film referred to as Suriya39. The makers announced that the film's dubbing commenced and the post-production is in full swing.
