Suriya gets a rare honor

Kollywood actor Suriya is known for his versatile performances. He made a stunning impact with his performances in Soorarai Pottru (Akasame Nee  Haddura), and Jai Bheem. Both the films represented India at the prestigious Oscars but couldn't make it to the final list. This disappointed all his fans and movie lovers across the country. 

In the meantime, Suriya got a rare honor. Oscar Academy invited 397 artists and executives to join the organization and Suriya is one of them. Thus Suriya became the first south Indian actor to receive this honor. Even yesteryear Bollywood actress Kajol got the invitation to join The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Suriya is currently starring in the direction of Bala which happens to be his 41st project and he is also doing a cameo in the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru. He is also producing the project in Hindi. Akshay Kumar is playing the lead role in the film.
