Slipper Hurled At Kannada Star Hero Darshan In An Event

Kannada Star Hero Darshan was targeted with a slipper by someone from the crowd in a song launching event for his upcoming film Kranthi at Hospet. The incident was caught on camera. Darshan stayed calm and asked his fans not to react. He left the place immediately with police protection. Local media are saying that the slipper was hurled by someone from the gathering hurt by Darshan's recent behaviour. Darshan recently got miffed with the Kannada media and ever since he has been making headlines mostly for all the wrong reasons.

Recently an audio clip of Darshan using abusive words against a news media surfaced on social media. This led to an unofficial ban on the actor by the news media in Karnataka. Since then, a majority of the leading news media both print and electronic stayed away from promoting any news about his film ventures. In another incident, during one of the interviews for a YouTube channel, Darshan expressed his views on the goddess of luck / wealth. He said that if luck goddess comes to our house, she should be undressed so that she wont go away. These comments were strongly objected and many people criticised the actor, saying the remarks were sexist in nature.

The latest mishap happened to Darshan is also linked to another controversy. It is known that Late actor Puneeth Rajkumar has humongous fan base in Karnataka. After Puneeth's demise, Darshan while speaking in an interview stated, " My fans love me to the core. Let's take an example of Puneeth, his fans are showing love towards him after he passed away. But my fans are showering their love on me while I am alive itself." These comments didn't went well with Puneeth fans. During the Kranthi movie song launch, there was a quarrel between Puneeth and Darshan fans which led to hurl slipper at Darshan. But, Darshan stopped his fans and asked them not to hurt him.
