Suriya’s film with Director Bala titled 'Vanangan' was launched a year ago. Recently Suriya decided to step out of the film, and the director decided to find a replacement for the lead role. Reports suggested that there was a rift between Director Bala and Suriya. 'Vanangan' started rolling earlier this year, and the team completed its first schedule in May. Despite Suriya being the producer of 'Vanangan', Bala refused to narrate the full story of the film.
This was reportedly the reason where the problems arise and Suriya finally decided to turn down the project. Suriya did the role of a fisherman in the film. Now Arun Vijay stepped into the shoes of Suriya in the lead role. And the film will start rolling from February, 2023.
In a press note released, Bala mentioned that the 'Vanangan' story might not suit Suriya's grade and he didn't want to degrade his career. So, the director and actor have decided to exit from the project. The delay in the production of 'Vanangan' has reportedly cost the makers Rs 10 crore of loss. Now it has to be seen who will produce this film with Arun Vijay in the lead role. It was Krithi Shetty opposite Suriya when the film began shooting. Now we have to see whether she will stay or not.
It is said to be director AL Vijay who is close to Director Bala and Arun Vijay has played key role in bringing this combination together. Bala earlier too while launching Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram with a remake of Telugu cult film Arjun Reddy, had a clash with producer and shelved the project titled Varmaa after its completion.
