Kota Srinivasa Rao needs no introduction. He is one of the most talented and versatile actor in Telugu cinema. He has done wide range of characters, varied from character artist, villain, comedian not only in Telugu but also in a few films in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam languages. His body of work including 750 films stands as a testament about how talented he is. 

Kota Srinivasa Rao debuted as an actor with Telugu film Pranam Khareedu in 1978 which also marks the debut of Megastar Chjranjeevi. He earned fame for his villainous roles in Repati Pourulu and Pratighatana. He was turned into a comedian with Jandhyala directorial Aha Naa Pellanta. He became a complete villain with Ram Gopal Varma debut film Siva and Kodi Ramakrishna's directorial Sathruvu.

Since then he has been working in diversified characters leaving his mark in films like Money, Govinda Govinda, Hello Brother, Aame, Anaganaga Oka Roju, Ganesh, Idiot, Malliswari, Aa Naluguru, Chatrapathi, Athadu, Bommarillu, Sarkar and many more.

He has received nine state Nandi Awards in various categories of villain, character actor, and supporting actor. In 2012, he has garnered the SIIMA Award for his work in Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum. In 2015, he received India's fourth highest civilian honour Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema.
