Mastermind Christopher Nolan enjoys a cult following in India. Every new film of this director is embraced by Indian audiences. His latest film Oppenheimer is all set to hit the screens in India on 21st July. The advance bookings are hitting the roof especially in cities like Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.
Nolan's previous films, Inception and Interstellar became blockbusters in India. Looks like Oppenheimer is another hit in the making as almost all shows including the early morning and late night shows of Oppenheimer have been sold out in major cities.
According to reports, about 3 lakhs tickets have been already sold for the film across the country on Book My Show portal. Fans are buying tickets even for 12 am and 4 am shows. It is also reported that the costliest ticket for the film was Rs 2,450. A look at the Book my show website, reveals that Imax tickets for the film are sold for a whopping Rs 1500 and Rs 2000 per ticket.
Ticker prices in Delhi and Mumbai are higher in comparison to cities like Chennai and Hyderabad. In Delhi, even tickets for 2D shows are sold at Rs 2000 each. Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy in the lead role, is a biopic about the theoretical physicist, who was behind the invention of the atomic bomb as part of the Manhattan Project, which changed the course of history forever.
