Exactly two years after saying goodbye to films and plunging into politics full time, actor-turned-politician K Chiranjeevi has decided to take a break from politics and act in movies.

The actor announced that his next film would be a social message-oriented one, on the lines of the live of Tagore and Stalin.

The actor-turned-politician-turned-actor said that shooting for his new film would begin next year. The story is yet to be finalized, he pointed out.

Giving words to this thoughts, Mr Chiranjeevi said that his film would live up to the expectations of his fans, besides delivering a social message and at the same time be a good entertainer for all sections of people. Mr Chiranjeevi said that it would be tough donning the greasepaint once again, especially after being away from acting for so long. 

He said that, “films and politics are two entirely different things, balancing both of them would require hard work.”

Earlier, his son and actor Ram Charan Teja had announced on Chiranjeevi’s 56th birthday, that his father would make a return to the big screen.

He had also announced that his father’s new film, where he would be playing the role of the protagonist, would be ready by his next birthday.

In a career spanning more than three decades, Chiranjeevi has acted in 149 films. 

Chiranjeevi was last seen in his son's film Magadheera, where he did a guest appearance. His last film in as a lead actor was ‘Shankar Dada Zindabad.’

Chiranjeevi had expressed his desire to act in films for the first time when the audio of Rajnikant-starrer Robo was released in Hyderabad early this month. He said that after watching the promos of Robo, the artiste in him desired to get back to acting.
