Finance Commission to visit state today

Hyderabad, July 18 :-

The 13th Finance Commission headed by Dr Vijay Kelkar, Chairman of the Commission, would visit Andhra Pradesh on July 19.

The Commission would be in the state for three days to hold consultations with the State Government on various issues related to the devolution of finances during 2010 to 2015.

The Commission would also meet the political parties, representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies at Jubilee Hall on July 19. The commission will also   meet the Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on July 20. The Commission would discuss issues related to allocating resources for various projects of the state at a meeting convened in Sangareddy district.

All party leaders will be invited for the meeting to mount pressure on the Commission to allocate more funds for development projects in the state. 

The team is supposed to visit Medak and Rangareddy districts in the State.
