Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Monday stated that any decision to take disciplinary action against any party member is made with the ‘heaviest of hearts’ and ‘is taken if only it is absolutely necessary’.
The PCC president also said that if necessary, the party will act against any Congress member, no matter how powerful he may be and said that he had no bias against any member of the party.
Describing himself as the last person in the Congress party to recommend action against party members, Mr Srinivas told media persons at the Gandhi Bhavan that he did not find it necessary to react to suspended PCC Secretary Ambati Rambabu’s comments.
Mr Rambabu had said that if the party starts to take action against party members for the slightest pretext, then pigeons would start building nests in Gandhi Bhavan since the place would be deserted.
Talking about the much talked about Cabinet expansion, Mr Srinivas said that he saw nothing wrong in party leaders expecting a berth.
The PCC president also expressed happiness that the statements by party MPs against each other had subsided to a great extent after the meeting held at Lake View guesthouse.
