Congress MP from Guntur Rayapati Sambasiva Rao on Tuesday stated a decision on the expansion of Cabinet will be taken in the last week of October.
Talking to media persons after a discussion with Chief Minister K Rosaiah, Mr Sambasiva Rao attributed the reason for delay in the expansion of Cabinet to political crisis in BJP-ruled state of Karnakata.
He said that the High Command would take a decision on Cabinet expansion by October-end.
The MP’s statement assumes significance, coming as it does, after his Monday’s call to Chief Minister Rosaiah to make way for others if he was not in a position to initiate action against `corrupt Ministers.’
That statement had raised hue and cry among the party cadre who demanded that he withdraw the comments immediately.
A section of Congress MLAs demanded that the High Command initiate disciplinary action against Rao for his comments.
They said the MP should have submitted the list of ‘corrupt Ministers’ to the Chief Minister instead of making comments in public.
