Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Wednesday advised Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu not to tarnish the image of the Opposition Leader’s position and to behave in a responsible manner.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr Srinivas said the TDP leader has brought disrepute to the state by resorting to dharna at Rasoolpura Crossroads seeking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s appointment during his visit.
“Mr Naidu, who has vast experience as chief minister of the state, should not have resorted to such cheap gimmicks, seeking PM’s appointment to press people’s problems. As a responsible Opposition leader, he could have contacted the Chief Minister and brought the peoples issues to his notice,” Mr Srinivas asserted.
The PCC chief also refuted the statements of the TDP chief linking Micro Finance Institutions with AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
Mr Srinivas said that Mr Rahul Gandhi has no connection with the MFIs and he cannot dictate terms with them.
He asked Mr Naidu to stop issuing baseless statements against Congress leaders and uphold the values in politics.
“If he does not stop his malicious campaign, the Congress leaders would take serious action against him,” he warned.
