The Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers and Workers on Thursday served a strike notice to the government.

Briefing media persons at the state Secretariat, JAC secretary general K Swamy Goud said that they were forced to serve the notice due to unresponsive and indifferent attitude of the government and called upon all their members/employees to make note of it.

In case there was no favourable reply from the government, Mr Goud said that they would start a relay hunger strike at Indira Park here from November 8 to 16, relay fast in district head quarters from November 10 to 12 and organise ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ on November 23 with 6,55,000 employees in all.

Even then if there was no response from the government, the JAC would chalk out an action programme on evening of November 23 to organise indefinite strike or indefinite hunger strike to realise its demands.

the JAC also demanded House Rent Allowance at 20 percent at district headquarters, 30 percent House Rent Allowance for HMDA area in place of GHMC area, increase from 15 percent in place of existing 12.5 percent and 10 percent, regularisation of contract staff, filling up of all vacant posts in class four cadres among others.

Mr Goud revealed that the JAC had originally stated 38 demands but brought these down to 10, but the government still adopted a stubborn stand not being favourable to any of their demands.

He also appealed to the government to concede to their demands in the larger interests of the people and the employees.

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary SV Prasad meanwhile assured the JAC team that he would look into the matter.

Among others, JAC chairman V Gopal Reddy, Co-Chairmen P Venkata Reddy, N Narayana, K Narasimha Reddy, N Ananda Rao, M Janardha Reddy,  Dy Secretary Generals P Ashok Babu, G Devi Prasad Rao were also present.
