The winter Session of Parliament is most likely to Debate on the burning MFI issue in the state.

Talking to media persons, Minister for Rural Development Vatti Vasantha Kumar stated that if everything goes as scheduled and as stipulated, the Lok Sabha will discuss functioning of the micro finance organisations. He added that the Centre may also introduce a Bill to regulate the activities of the Microfinance Institutions, which drew considerable attention in the society as their victims’ sufferings reached a saturation point.

The Minister, along with Agriculture Minister Raguveera Reddy blamed TDP leaders for attempting to drag in the names of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi into a controversy over their alleged meeting with SKF MD Vikram Akula.

If that is the case, they said, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has posed for photographs with many controversial persons. They challenged Mr Naidu for a discussion on the subject.

At a separated press meeting, 20-Point Programme Chairman Tulasi Reddy also condemned Mr Naidu for slinging mud at Mr Rahul Gandhi and Ms Sonia Gandhi.
