Telangana Ministers to attend AP fete on Nov 1

Ministers belonging to Telangana region will take part in the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations scheduled for November 1.

Representing the Telangana team of Ministers, Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Minister for Information Technology Komatireddy Venkata Reddy told media persons at the Secretariat on Wednesday that they owe a moral responsibility to the state and were expected to discharge their duty as Cabinet Ministers as such.

They stated that the Ministers were boycotting the call given by Osmania University Students' JAC calling for Telanganaites to observe November 1 as 'Betrayal Day'.

Stating that only Congress could achieve a separate state for Telangana, the two Minister said that the Srikrishna Panel's report was awaited and then the centre would go into the issue.

The students’ leaders threat to block the celebrations was not proper. The government would not tolerate any provocations from the students, they said and added that Congress activists would neutralise their actions.

They also rebuffed the students' remarks that they were traitors and said that KCR himself was moving closely with Lagadapati Rajagopal and even likened him as a hero.
