The German Consul General met Chief Minister K Rosaiah at Secretariat on Thursday in this regard. Mr Rosaiah assured all support and assistance to the German exhibition.

The Consul General told the Chief Minister that to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with India, Germany is presently preparing a German Year in India. With a huge diversity of events, 'Germany and India 2011-2012' will showcase the entire spectrum of cooperation with India--politics, business, culture, education, science and research---under the overarching theme 'StadtRaume---CitySpaces'.

'Germany and India 2011-2012' is scheduled from autumn 2011 to autumn 2012. He said "Germany and India work together as partners, on the basis of mutual trust and shared values, to meet future challenges.

We intend to extend and intensify long-term cooperation based on partnership in all fields. The Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the German Foreign Ministry on 18th October 2010 signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate the realisation of this project.

The Consul General said "we are planning central events in Hyderabad. There will be exhibitions, symposia, congresses, trade fairs, cultural events etc. A core element and special added value is a Mobile Unit which will host the main events.

This mobile event unit is conceived as an interactive space where presentations from the fields of business, culture, science, education and research will be made. The unit will travel to the major cities in the country and will be the 'face' of Germany and India 2011-2012".

The Chief Minister said the State Government will make all facilities available for the all important exhibition.
