Incessant rains in Nellore force Odarpu Yathra deferment

Incessant rains in Nellore district have forced to defer the Odarpu Yatra till further notice.

According to Member of Parliament Mekapati Rajmohan Reddy, the Yatra has been deferred keeping in view the health of Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy and to avoiding causing inconvenience to the large number of people expected to take part in the Yatra.

The district has seen incessant rainfall since Friday evening, forcing the Kadapa MP’s supporters to rethink of going ahead with the Yatra, taken out to console the families of those who had died of shock or committed suicide in the aftermath of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s death. Mr Rajmohan Reddy told media persons that the Odarpu Yatra will resume as per its schedule, in Kovvuru and Indukurupet, on Sunday.
