About 2,275 candidates did not turn up for the counseling, he said, adding for these candidates the government has given an opportunity for conducting re-counseling on November 23.

“If the candidates fail to turn up for re-counseling, their names will be removed from the selection lists”, the Minister stated.

Mr Prasada Rao said 2,505 candidates have been left over for want of vacancies. The left over candidates will get the postings subject to the vacancies existing, the Minister informed.

He said the government has followed in principle the rationalisation norms under the Right to Education Act following the student, teacher ratio of 30:1 for providing quality education.

"We have followed the Supreme Court directions in letter and spirit while conducting the recruitments," the Minister pointed out.

Regarding the Junior Lecturers' appointment, the Minister said that a decision will be taken after consulting the legal experts.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy stated the department will conduct written test for recruitment of 1,200 sub-inspector posts soon.

She said the officials are chalking out modalities for issuing notification in this regard soon.
