The war of words between the Congress and Telugu Desam Party is becoming more intensive each passing day, with leaders from both the parties trying to outshout the other.

Following the trend set by Chief Minister K Rosaiah who spewed venom against TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday, and Mr Naidu’s subsequent retaliation, it was the turn of Health Minister Danam Nagender to counter senior Telugu Desam Party leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu statements made against Mr Rosaiah and Congress High Command.

Mr Nagender on Wednesday demanded that Mr Muddukrishnama Naidu withdraw the remarks he had made against the Congress top run “immediately and issue and also apologise for the baseless and serious allegations.”

Talking to media persons at CLP Office, the Health Minister said that Mr Muddukrishnama Naidu has been targeting the Chief Minister and other senior Congress leaders unnecessarily and making serious allegations against them. This, he said, was unbecoming of a senior politician with immense experience.

Mr Nagender went a step further though. He ‘advised’ through the media that Mr Muddukrishnama Naidu might do well to “contact a veterinary doctor for treatment as general physicians were unable to understand his abnormal behavior and his baseless comments against leaders.”

Reacting on the demand made by Mr Muddukrishnama Naidu to remove Government Advisor and Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao, Mr Nagender said the TDP leader has no moral right to talk about KVP. He pointed out to Mr Muddukrishnama Naidu that KVP was nominated for the Rajya Sabha by the Congress due to his contribution to the party.

Reacting to the statement made by the TDP president that a younger leader should be given chance for Chief Minister post, Mr Nagender stated that Mr Rosaiah was the chosen for the post considering his political experience and administrative skills. “With his enormous experience Rosaiah is doing very well,” he added.

In a more sporting rejoinder, the Health Minister stated that the allegations that good players are being sidelined by the Hyderabad Cricket Association would be discussed in a Cabinet meeting and appropriate remedial action will be taken.
