Taking serious note on the comments of former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy that he would work against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in Chittoor district, Minister for Mines and Geology Galla Aruna Kumari on Friday condemned his remarks and sought an apology.
Talking to media persons at CLP Office, the Minister demanded that Mr Ramachandra Reddy withdraws his remarks against the Chief Minister.
She said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy never expressed his displeasure over the allotment of portfolios by former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy when he was forming his Cabinet. Ms Aruna Kumari added that KKR had accepted being left out of the Cabinet in 2004, and he was later rewarded with the Speaker’s post in 2009.
The Minister stated that the High Command would initiate disciplinary action against Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy for openly declaring a ‘war’ against KKR.
Mr Ramachanra Reddy had said that, “Kiran Kumar is my political opponent since a long time. I will work against him in the district and join hands with others too in the process of destabilizing his Cabinet,” in Chittoor on Thursday.
He had also predicted the collapse of the KKR government by the year-end and also criticized the High Command over its choice of KKR to serve as Chief Minister.
Asked to react on dissatisfaction and unhappiness among some Ministers over the allotment of ‘insignificant’ portfolios, Ms Aruna Kumari said there was no such problem and expressed confidence that the Ministers would take charge of their respective Ministries soon.
When asked when she herself would take charge of the Ministry allotted to her, Ms Aruna Kumari said “I will study my portfolio first before taking charge. I will work hard and mobilize resources for to ensure the development works and welfare schemes launched by the state government are implemented.”
